Circadian Labs works with great people to do great things
Projects and programs
Kindred Trust
Circadian Lab is the strategic lead and execution partner behind Kindred Trust, a new philanthropic initiative that funds high impact projects and collaborates with partners to support an effective ecosystem of organizations in the sacred medicine space. Circadian worked with Kindred Trust’s founder to develop the vision, strategy, and direction for the initiative, which has made an initial 15 million dollar commitment to the space. Kindred has disbursed two rounds of grants so date, supporting projects that range from harm reduction initiatives to data-informed pilots to Indigenous medicine centers. We worked to embed values of equity, community, and access into the grantmaking program, and take a collaborative, reciprocal approach to philanthropy that acknowledges and uplifts those who came before us.
The Psychedelic Listening Project
The Psychedelic Listening Project report, conceived and produced by Circadian Labs, arose from an urgent need to ensure the burgeoning psychedelic ecosystem develops in a way that avoids the pitfalls and harms of the mainstream medical system — corporate consolidation, unequal access to treatment, and a limited view of what medicine and care should look like. Made possible by the bold support of Justin Rosenstein, the report brings together insights from extensive interviews with 26 experts, practitioners, scholars, and Indigenous leaders. It surfaces a series of vital issues and areas of innovation at both the grass-roots and the commercial level.
Next Gen Leadership
Circadian Labs’ leadership initiative spans mentorship, coaching programs and immersive workshops for emerging and next-gen leaders. Responding to growing demand for coaching that acknowledges the whole person and looks beyond growth as the only metric of success, Next Gen Leadership helps executives and founders successfully steward enterprise in service to social goals. Across all aspects of this program, Circadian Lab helps leaders build new competencies and orient towards systems change.
Social Dreaming Project
In service to developing greater capacities of resonance and somatic guidance, as well as the ability to hold paradox and uncertainty in deeper processes, Circadian Lab developed the Social Dreaming Project. The Social Dreaming Project was a container for a decade-long social dreaming initiative which includes regular projective dream circle gatherings and multi-stakeholder convenings. Circadian took its dream project initiatives to numerous international gatherings including Bioneers, SOCAP, Burning Man and the DeYoung Museum, where multi-day immersions led to prototyping new approaches to complex societal issues. The programs engaged change makers, creatives and young leaders in community practices for personal and collective transformation.
Wisdom Journeys
Circadian Lab’s Wisdom Journeys take North American leaders to the Amazonian rainforest for an immersive set of learnings and interactions. Participants learn from the collective wisdom and leadership practices of the Indigenous tribes who are stewarding their land and culture through a period of intense ecological peril. Leading With Wisdom helps participants map the complex economic, political, and environmental networks that connect us all. Most recently, Circadian Lab director Jeff Leifer stewarded a delegation of impact investors and leading executives in an immersive journey to the Ecuadorian amazon. Participants were moved to action by the long term utility of restorative design, ethnographic mapping and regenerative systems.
New Economies Labs
Guided by director Jeff Leifer, Circadian Lab’s New Economies work has spanned convening curation, impact investing thought leadership, and the development of new models. Leifer’s background in finance and economic reform lends Circadian Lab a deep well of knowledge and experience to draw from in this domain, and an awareness of the need for strategies that help evolve our economic models towards a fairer and more participatory future. Circadian Lab was an influential curator and convenor for the Social Capital Markets conference for a number of years, and guided impact investing and new economies conversations with a range of clients and organizations.
